The 2011 Sew News Style Star contest is open to all nominees who are legal residents of the
United States, Canada (excluding Quebec), England and Wales. Employees of Creative Crafts
Group, LLC, d/b/a Sew News, "Sponsors," their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising
and promotion agencies and their family members (defined as parents, spouse, children,
siblings, grandparents) and/or those living in the same household are not eligible to enter.
Entrants under 18 years of age must have a parent or legal guardian's permission to enter this
Contest. By entering the Contest, entrants (and if under age 18, their parents/legal guardians)
agree to accept and be bound by all terms of these official rules ("Official Rules"). This Contest
is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited.
The contest begins 1/14/11 and ends 9/9/11.

To enter, complete the following instructions: Register at sewnews.com/stylestar. Modify,
alter and embellish a pattern of your choice to create a unique garment. Upload a photo and
description of your garment to sewnews.com/stylestar. Encourage others to vote for your garment.
(Prize will be awarded to the individual winner). Enter at sewnews.com/stylestar. Include
your name, address, phone number and e-mail address. Entries must be received by September
9, 2011. There is no limit to the number of entries, but each garment entry must be different.
Sew News is not responsible for lost, incomplete, illegible, late or misdirected entries, inaccurate
entry information or hardware, or software or other technical malfunctions of any kind. Sew
News reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to void any and all entries of an entrant who Sew
News believes has attempted to tamper with or impair the administration, security, fairness or
proper play of this Contest; or to adjust the dates herein, or cancel the Contest; or if a computer
virus or other cause beyond Sew News' control corrupts the administration, proper play or
security of this Contest. Sew News reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to change these
Official Rules.

Entries will be voted for by peers who visit the sewnews.com/stylestar site, and the nominee
with the most user-generated votes will be chosen as the winner. The Contest will take place
under the supervision of the "Sponsors." Participants agree to be bound by these rules and the
decision of the vote tally, which is final. In the event of a tie, tied entrants will be reassessed and
the winner will be chosen by members of the Sew News staff. The winner will be notified by
e-mail or phone on or before September 14, 2011. The winning garment will appear in the
Dec/Jan '12 issue of Sew News.

One Grand Prize will be selected, which will consist of: Husqvarna Viking H Class 600E sewing

10-pattern assortment, a bottle of Fiber Etch and Silkpaint Resist from Wildly Wonderful
Wearables; and the winning garment will be published in the Dec/Jan '12 issue of Sew News.

Submitting an entry does not mean that you have won a Prize. Odds of winning depend upon
the total number of eligible entries in the Contest. It is expressly understood that Sponsor is
under no obligation to the Winners other than as expressly set forth herein. The Prize is
awarded to each Winner "AS IS" and WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, expressed or
implied (including, without limitation, any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for
a particular purpose), except for any manufacturer warranty. No substitution of any Prize will
be permitted except by Sponsor, who may substitute a Prize of equal or greater value if an
advertised Prize becomes unavailable. The Prize is non-transferable, and the prize package
may not be redeemed for cash. The Winners are solely responsible for all federal, state and
local taxes and fees associated with the receipt of any Prize.

All entries and requests become the exclusive property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged
or returned, or any portion thereof. Sponsor will have the right to photograph the
winner. Entry constitutes permission to use the Winners' name, picture, likeness, entry or any
portion thereof, and city and state of residence for purposes of trade, publicity or promotion
for no additional compensation except where prohibited by law. All entries must be original
and not previously seen (in full or in part) on any Web sites. Submission of entry constitutes
entrant's consent (or that of their parent/legal guardian) to irrevocably assign to Sponsor any
and all rights to entry including, but not limited to, intellectual property rights. The entrant represents
and warrants that he/she holds the necessary rights to irrevocably assign all rights in
the entry, including necessary rights related to copyrights, patents, trademarks, trade secrets,
music, images or other proprietary or property right, or any other right of any person or entity
and that the entry does not infringe on any third-party rights. (DO NOT ENTER OTHERS OR
INCLUDE OTHER PERSONS OR THEIR PROPERTY IN YOUR ENTRY WITHOUT FIRST OBTAINING
THEIR WRITTEN CONSENT.) Submission of any entry grants Sponsor and its agents the right
to publish, produce, use, adapt, edit and/or modify the entry in any way and in any and all
media, without limitation and without compensation to the entrant.

The Winner (or the parent/guardian if winner is a minor) will be required to execute an affidavit
of eligibility, compliance with Contest rules and release of liability. The winner will also
be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement until their names and layouts are released to the
public by Sew News.

All entrants release Sponsors, affiliates, parents, subsidiaries, directors, officers, shareholders,
representatives, successors, assigns, licensees, employees and agents, and all others associated
with the development and execution of this contest from any and all liability from injury, loss
or damage of any kind, including any personal injury, death, loss or damage of any kind; or
claims based on publicity rights, defamation or invasion of privacy resulting from participation
in this Contest; or acceptance or use of the Prize awarded whether under a theory of contract,
tort (including negligence), warranty or other theory. Use of Sponsor's Web site is at entrant's
own risk. Sponsor is not responsible for any personal injury, or property damage or losses of
any kind, which may be sustained to entrant's or any other person's computer equipment
resulting from participation in the Contest, use of the Sponsor's Web site or the download of
any information from Sponsor's Web site. Entrant further agrees that all rights under Section
1542 of the California Civil Code, and any similar law of any state or territory of the United
States, are hereby expressly waived. That section, in pertinent part, provides: "A general
release does not extend to claims which the Creditor does not know or suspect to exist in his
favor at the time of the executing of this release, which if known by him must materially affect
his settlement with the debtor." Any dispute shall be resolved individually without resort to
any form of class action.

Prizes must be claimed by September 20, 2011. Failure to execute and return any requested
document within fourteen (14) days of postmark, or return of notification or prize as undeliverable
may result in forfeiture of prize and an alternate winner will be selected at the sole
discretion of Sew News.

Void where prohibited or restricted by law. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.

US and Canadian entrants:
(i) If you are a legal resident in the United States or Canada and are under the applicable age
of majority, then your parent or legal guardian must also print his/her name and sign the back
of each submission below your signature. He/she will also be required to provide parental
permission and releases on your behalf. Selected Canadian entrants must correctly answer,
without assistance of any kind, a time-limited, mathematical skill-testing question to be
declared a winner. US and Canadian Winners (or the parent/guardian if a minor) will be
required to execute an affidavit attesting to entry eligibility, compliance with these Official
Rules, and release of liability as may be applicable.
(ii) All Winners will be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement, agreeing not to disclose their
success until their names are published by the Sponsor.
(iii) Failure to execute and return any requested document within fourteen (14) days of receipt
may result in forfeiture of Prize, in which case an alternate potential winner may be selected
at the sole discretion of Sponsor.

There is no limit to the number of entries per person, however each garment entered must
be different. If a duplicate garment is received and/or posted on the contest Web site,
Sponsor will enter only one (1) entry into the Contest. Electronic entries must be received at
www.sewnews.com/stylestar by no later than 11:59 p.m. EST on September 9, 2011. Any
entries not received as outlined will not be eligible for the 2011 Sew News Style Star Contest
(no exceptions). Sew News cannot accept late entries due to delays in posting or due to
technical errors or power outages. Sponsor shall not be responsible for lost, late, mutilated
or misdirected entries.

Entries that do not follow the Official Rules will automatically be disqualified from the 2011
Sew News Style Star Contest, although the layouts may be eligible for use by Sew News in its
publications. Disqualified entrants will be required to return the prize to Sponsor and give up
all rights to the title of Style Star. In the event that a winning entrant is disqualified after the
announcement of winners is made, the winner will not be filled.

The Official Rules shall be governed by the laws of the country or state in which the entrant
resides.
