Eligibility
The McCall's Quilting Quilt Design Star™ 2012 Amateur Category competition is open to quilt designers who have not previously had any quilt design published for profit. This includes publication in any quilting magazine, book, or other quilting publication, design of collection quilts for fabric manufacturers, and self-publication of quilt patterns. Designers must maintain this amateur status for the duration of their participation in the competition. Previous McCall's Quilting Quilt Design Star™ 2012 finalists are not eligible to participate.

Contestants must be at least 18 years of age by 3/13/2012, and must be legal residents of the U.S. or Canada (excluding Quebec).

Contestants must provide a working email address and agree to respond within 24 hours to any email sent to them by employees of New Track Media LLC/Creative Crafts Group/McCall's Quilting magazine.

Employees of New Track Media LLC/Creative Crafts Group/McCall's Quilting magazine, its respective parent, affiliate, subsidiary, advertising, sponsoring, and promotional companies and the immediate family members of each are not eligible. This contest is void where prohibited by law. Due to legal requirements in Quebec and European, South American, Asian and other nations, the contest is restricted to the United States and Canada (excluding Quebec). McCall's Quilting reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to change these official rules at any time.

All entered quilts must be original designs, or original interpretations of traditional designs, and must be the individual design work of the contestant. Quilts designed by a contestant, but made and/or quilted by others, are eligible, but proper credit must be given to all involved in the actual completion of quilts and/or quilt tops.

Finalists and winners will be required to execute an affidavit of eligibility, compliance with contest rules, and release of liability, as well as a confidentiality agreement. No finalist or winner will be allowed to release any information about the McCall's Quilting Quilt Design Star™ contest in any form without express permission of McCall's Quilting.
