Do you admire someone who taught you to sew? Do you look up to someone who uses her sewing talents to help those in need? If you're a fan of someone because her sewing abilities go hand in hand with her humanitarian spirit, nominate her to win the biggest Sew News contest yet: Sewing Idol.

How to Enter: Obtain permission from the person you'd like to nominate. Write a 1000-word essay about who your nominee is and why he/she is your Sewing Idol, then paste it into your entry form. Each contest page visitor can nominate up to 10 different Sewing Idols. Please do not nominate the same Sewing Idol more than once, as votes will be calculated separately for each entry.

When to Enter: The Sewing Idol contest begins at 12 a.m. EST on January 15, 2010 and ends at 12 a.m. EST on September 10, 2010. The winner will be notified on or before September 15, 2010 via e-mail or phone.

How to Win: Vote for your favorite nominee. Each contest page visitor can cast as many votes as possible within the contest period. After the contest end date, the nominee with the most visitor votes will win the grand prize.
